Why Does God Incarnate to Perform His Judgment Work of the Last Days?
We’ve already chatted a few times about God’s judgment work in the last days. Today we’d like to take a look at who performs this judgment...
Many people think that after the Lord Jesus was nailed to the cross and resurrected from the dead, He had already become a glorious spiritual body and ascended to heaven; therefore, when the Lord returns, He should appear and work in His resurrected spiritual body. So, they ask: Why must God become incarnate as the Son of man again to do the work of judgment in the last days? We all know that in the Age of Grace, the Lord Jesus appeared and worked by becoming incarnate as the Son of man to interact with people, to live together with them, and to express the truth to lead them. Finally, He was nailed to the cross to take on the sins of mankind, as a sin offering for man. The best way for God to appear, do the work of redemption, and serve as a sin offering was to become incarnate; not only was Satan shamed, but God also gained glory. It’s clear that God’s choice to work as an incarnation was entirely based on the needs of the work; He did not determine the manner of His appearance according to human notions and imaginings. Then why must God become incarnate again to do the work of judgment in the last days? This is also based on the needs of corrupt mankind; corrupt mankind needs the salvation of the incarnate God. God’s work of saving people is not as simple as people imagine—it is not as if all it takes is for Him to fully express the truth, and then for people to just read God’s words themselves, gather to fellowship, and practice and experience them. That would not achieve any results. There is a practical process for every stage of God’s work, involving many details. In particular, God’s work of judgment to cleanse people in the last days requires long-term interaction with people; within this, He expresses the truth in a targeted way to judge and expose people according to the various corrupt states and the rebelliousness and resistance they reveal. It also requires people to experience various trials and refinements, which reveal them. This requires God to become incarnate and live among people to do His work. Therefore, the incarnate God must have normal humanity. This makes it convenient for Him to interact with people, and people can live in freedom and liberation before God, without any restraints, speaking freely and acting naturally just as they do when interacting with other people. This makes it convenient for God to express the truth to cleanse and save people. If He appeared as a spiritual body, it would not be easy to interact with people. Think about it: If God’s spiritual body were to suddenly appear before people, how would they feel? They would be terrified and panic-stricken. Interacting with the Spirit of God once or twice would leave people in constant fear—they’d be frightened of not knowing when God might come, and wouldn’t know how to face God. So tell me, could the work of saving people achieve results if God came as a spiritual body to do it? It could not. If people’s hearts were trembling with fear, and they were full of dread, defensiveness, and evasion, they would be unable to open their hearts to God. How then could God express the truth to save people? Furthermore, before His spiritual body, people would have no notions whatsoever; they would only tremble with fear, not daring to show the slightest rebelliousness or resistance. Still less would they dare to act according to their own will. In that case, people’s corrupt dispositions would be hidden and could not be cleansed. This proves that God working as a spiritual body is not conducive to saving people. However, when God becomes incarnate as an ordinary person, it is easier for Him to do His work. When people see that Christ is an ordinary person, it is easy for them to draw close to God and open their hearts to Him. And when God expresses words to expose people, it is also easy for them to accept. So if God became incarnate as an exceptional figure or a famous person, could this result be achieved? People would feel that God was beyond their reach, and a distance would be created between them and God. But if God becomes incarnate as an ordinary person, people can draw near to God, speak from their hearts, and whatever corrupt dispositions they have can be revealed. It also makes it easy for whatever notions and imaginings they have to be exposed. In this way, it is convenient and easy for God to expose and judge people. Therefore, in His work of the last days, God must become incarnate as an ordinary person. The image of this flesh cannot be too exceptional. Only in this way will people be willing to interact with God just like they interact with an ordinary person. They will be free and liberated in their speech and actions, and they will be able to simply and openly speak to God from their hearts. Moreover, before the incarnate God, people’s rebelliousness and corruption can also be naturally revealed. Through God’s judgment, exposure, and pruning, people will be willing to repent before God, express their resolve to Him, and give their hearts to the practical God. Once people fully understand the truth, they will be able to submit to the practical God in their hearts and worship the practical God. Those who gain the truth will be able to achieve being of one mind with the practical God, loving God to the utmost, and submitting unto death. In this way, the incarnate God can make a group of people complete and gain them. Just as Almighty God says: “When God is working in the flesh, He is actually doing battle with Satan in the flesh. When He works in the flesh, He is doing His work of the spiritual realm, and He makes the whole of His work in the spiritual realm real on earth. The one who is conquered is man, man who is rebellious to Him, and the one who is defeated is the embodiment of Satan (of course, this is also man), who is in enmity to Him, and the one who is ultimately saved is also man. Thus, it is even more necessary for God to become a human who has the outer shell of a created being, so that He is able to do actual battle with Satan, to conquer man, who is rebellious to Him and possessed of the same outer shell as Him, and to save man, who is of the same outer shell as Him and has been harmed by Satan. His enemy is man, the object of His conquest is man, and the object of His salvation is man, who was created by Him. So He must become human, and in this way, His work becomes much easier—He is able to defeat Satan and conquer mankind, and even more so able to save mankind” (The Word, Vol. 1. The Appearance and Work of God. Corrupt Mankind Is in Greater Need of the Salvation of the Incarnate God). “For corrupt people, only work that provides accurate words and clear goals to pursue, and is visible and tangible, is the most valuable kind of work. Only realistic work and timely guidance are suited to man’s tastes, and only practical work can save man from his corrupt and depraved disposition. This can only be achieved by the incarnate God; only the incarnate God can save man from his old corrupt and depraved disposition. Although the Spirit is the inherent essence of God, work such as this can only be done by His flesh. If the Spirit worked single-handedly, then it would not be possible for His work to be effective—this is a plain truth. Though most people have become the enemies of God because of this flesh, when this flesh concludes His work, those who are against Him will not only cease to be His enemies, but on the contrary will become His witnesses. They will become the witnesses that have been conquered by Him, witnesses that are compatible with Him and inseparable from Him. He shall cause man to know the importance of the work of the flesh to man, and man shall know the importance of this flesh to the meaning of man’s existence, shall know His practical value as concerns the growth of man’s life, and, even more so, shall know that this flesh will actually become a living fountain of life from which man cannot bear to part” (The Word, Vol. 1. The Appearance and Work of God. Corrupt Mankind Is in Greater Need of the Salvation of the Incarnate God). “Therefore, corrupt mankind is in greater need of the salvation of the incarnate God, and is in greater need of the direct work of the incarnate God. Mankind needs the incarnate God to shepherd him, support him, water him, feed him, judge and chastise him, and he needs more grace and greater redemption from the incarnate God. Only God in the flesh can be the confidant of man, the shepherd of man, the very present help of man, and all of this is the necessity of the incarnation both today and in times past” (The Word, Vol. 1. The Appearance and Work of God. Corrupt Mankind Is in Greater Need of the Salvation of the Incarnate God).
