394 You Must Place Belief in God Above All Else
I
If you believe in God,
and if you wish to gain God and gain His satisfaction,
then unless you endure the pain and put in the effort,
you will not be able to achieve these things.
You have heard much preaching,
but simply having heard it
does not mean this sermon is yours;
you must absorb it and transform it
into something that belongs to you.
Absorb it into your life and your existence,
allowing these words to guide the way you live
and bring existential value and meaning to your life,
then your hearing these words will have been worth it.
II
If God’s words do not bring about any upturn in your lives
or add any value to your existences,
then there’s no point in your listening to them.
There’s no point in your listening to them.
You will only gain from your faith in God
if you treat it as the greatest thing in your life,
more important than even food, clothes, or anything else.
If you only believe when you have the time,
and can’t give all your attention to your faith,
and if you are always mired in confusion,
then you will gain nothing, you will gain nothing.
If you only believe when you have the time,
and can’t give all your attention to your faith,
and if you are always mired in confusion,
then you will gain nothing, you will gain nothing.
