568 God Hopes That Mankind Can Continue to Live
I
God hates man because man is hostile to Him, but in His heart, His care, concern, and mercy for humanity never change. Even though He destroyed mankind, His heart remains unchanged. When humanity is full of corruption and rebellious toward God to a grievous extent, God has to destroy this humanity, because of His disposition and His essence, and in accordance with His principles. But because of the essence of God, He still pities mankind, and even wants to use various ways to bring mankind back so they can continue to live. However, man opposes God, continues to rebel against God, and refuses to accept God’s salvation; that is, man refuses to accept His good intentions—no matter how God calls to him, reminds him, supplies him, helps him, or tolerates him, man does not understand it or appreciate it, nor does he pay attention.
II
In His pain, God still does not forget to grant man His maximum tolerance, waiting for man to reverse course. After He reaches His limit, He does what He has to do without any hesitation. In other words, there’s a specific time period and a process from the moment God plans to destroy mankind to the formal start of His work of destroying mankind. This process exists for the sake of man reversing course, and this is the last chance God gives to man. So in this period before destroying mankind, God does a significant amount of work of reminding and exhorting. No matter how much pain and sorrow God’s heart is in, He continues to vest His care, concern, and abundant mercy in humanity. In this, we see that God’s love for mankind is real and not something He merely pays lip service to. It is actual, tangible and appreciable.
