882  God Has Given All His Love to Humanity

I

Whether God displays righteousness, majesty or wrath, or performs all kinds of work for the salvation of humanity, it is all because of love. Why did God become flesh? It has been said before that God spares no effort to save humans, and His becoming flesh includes all of His love. Because humans’ rebelliousness toward God is extreme, and they are already beyond saving, God had no choice but to become flesh in order to offer Himself up to humans. God has offered up all of His love.

II

If God did not love humans, He would not have become flesh. God could have struck thunder from the heavens, unleashing His majesty and wrath directly, and then humans would fall to the ground. There would have been no need for God to go through the trouble, pay such a price, or suffer such humiliation in the flesh. This is an obvious example. He would rather suffer pain, humiliation, abandonment, and persecution to save humans. Even in such a hostile environment, He has still come to save them. Is this not the greatest love?
