301 May You Always Stay in My Heart
You stay by my side through spring and fall,
walk with me through winter and summer.
Seeing Your lonely countenance, my heart wells up with melancholy.
I’ve never considered Your solitude, nor comforted Your hurt.
In obstinate unrepentance,
I face, again and again, Your heartfelt exhortations.
I always cause You hurt and let You down,
and only after Your chastening do I gain slight awareness.
I stick close by Your side, yet I’m unable to shoulder Your burden;
how can one with no understanding know anything of Your suffering?
For my own desires, for the flesh, I forgot truth, morality, and justice.
When I am overwhelmed with grief, I’ve broken Your heart.
You feel sorrowful, yet no one understands it.
Moaning in pain amidst corruption, I greedily make demands of You.
Who has a conscience and reason to share some of Your worries?
With Your precious love and true feeling, Your heart is most kind.
Who could be more beautiful than You, who could be more honorable?
I’ll always be in Your company, and never leave Your side.
May jubilation appear on Your face, and may You always stay in my heart.
May jubilation appear on Your face, and may You always stay in my heart.
