207. Xiong XX, female, aged 60, from Shilong Township of Baiyang Town in Wanzhou District, Chongqing City, a worker of the Born Again Church. On July 23, 2001, someone preached the end-time gospel of Almighty God to her, but she condemned as soon as she opened her mouth, saying, “The one you preach is a devil, satan, and a deceiver. Even if he is the true God, I will not accept.” Afterward, she restricted the people led by her, not allowing them to accept God’s end-time work. A week later, that is, on the evening of July 29, when Xiong went upstairs in her house, she fell down the stairs and died outright.

208. Yang XX, male, aged 57, from Baiyang Town of Wanzhou District in Chongqing City, a believer of the Three-Self sect. In June 1996, Yang accepted God’s end-time work, and in April 1997, he became a junior leader. In April 1999, he was cleared from the church because of misusing the money of God’s family. Afterward, whenever he met any brother or sister, he would say, “Clearing or expelling people is all done by man. There’s no difference between believing and not believing. I think this is false, and this is a deceiver and a cult.” In July 1999, Yang and several others were readmitted into the church, and God’s family assigned him to lead those several people, but he refused and said, “I won’t do that hard and unprofitable job!” One evening in September 1999, Yang felt something like a leaf stuck in his throat. And he treated it as tonsillitis. But until January 2000, he still did not get any better, so he went to the county hospital for examination, and was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. He went everywhere to see doctors, and though he spent more than 3,500 yuan, it was still to no avail. On September 23, 2000, he died. On his deathbed, he sent for a sister who believed in Almighty God and told her, “Take all my books and notebooks and keep them safe. Do believe in God sincerely. I have no chance.” This is the consequence of his testing the way with his life!

209. Cheng XX, male, aged 70, from Chenjia Town of Wanzhou District in Chongqing City, a believer of the Praise Church. On March 2, 2001, someone preached the end-time salvation of Almighty God to him, but he refused to accept. Later, the gospel preacher gave him a book of God’s word, a hymnbook, and some tapes, asking him to make an investigation, and he agreed. But when the gospel preacher visited him again on March 6, he said, “This book cannot be read! You can’t read it! It is something that deceives people. Don’t you be taken in!” With that, he spat into the book and drove the gospel preacher away. No more than one week after this, that is, on March 12, 2001, Cheng got a strange disease—spitting non-stop every day. On August 15, 2001, when his saliva was dried up, he went to Hades. Anyone who hates the true way will surely die!

210. Xiong XX, female, aged 36, from Renhe Township of Shuangjiang Town in Yunyang County, Chongqing City, a church leader of the Praise Church. One evening in October 1999, two people went to her home to preach God’s end-time work, but she refused to listen, and she even resisted and said, “Now is the sowing time. You haven’t sown the wheat but come to reap. You are here to steal my sheep. Those sheep are all mine. You won’t steal them away. As to your God, I will never believe in him. Go away; if you don’t, I’ll call my brother to beat you right now!” While saying this, she went out furiously. Later, when she learned that her younger sister-in-law had accepted God’s end-time work, she incited her younger brother to beat up his wife until she returned the book of God’s word. On July 11, 2001, when the gospel preachers went to fellowship with her again, she blasphemed, “The God you believe in is false, while the one I believe in is the true way. He gives me peace and protects me.…” But unfortunately, right on the third day after she said this, she and her husband collided with a medium truck when they rode their motorcycle back home. Both of them fell into a dead faint on the spot and were covered with blood. Her husband had his left foot crushed, and at 9 o’clock on July 16, 2001, he left the world because of loss of blood. Xiong had her left leg and hand broken. It took the doctors twelve hours to repair the tendons of her leg in the surgery. And not until one month later did they set her broken bones and insert steel plates into her leg. The treatment cost her more than 50,000 yuan; even now she is still confined to bed. Xiong did not receive peace but suffered disaster. We wonder if she has woken up?
