Typical Cases of People from Christian Denominations and Sects and Catholic Churches in Jiangxi Province Who Were Punished for Resisting Almighty God

211. Hu XX, male, aged 63, from Qingban Township in Hengfeng County, a deacon of the Three-Self sect. In March 1999, Hu accepted Almighty God, but when he read the book of God’s word, he had notions. He measured Bible against God’s word, and when he failed to find harmony between them, he denied Almighty God. He also said to a sister who had accepted God’s end-time work, “Don’t believe in it anymore. If I am wrong, I will pay my life for yours.” Afterward, he often deceived his people and hindered them from accepting the end-time work of Almighty God. On February 16, 2000 (during the Spring Festival), when Hu was preaching, he suddenly went red in the face and shivered all over. On seeing this, a sister quickly stepped forward to support him, and he collapsed into her arms. When the other people gathered around, Hu was already unable to speak. He took out a ball pen from his pocket, and after he wrote “I am dying” on the left hand of the sister, he lost his consciousness. The brothers and sisters carried him to the bed and prayed together for him, but to no avail. Then they sent him to the hospital for intravenous drips, but the medication could not run into his vein. In the late afternoon, Hu died in the hospital. However, all the people of his village did not allow his body to be carried into the village. Hu proved with his life that what he said was wrong, and he “bravely” paid his life for the sister’s.

212. Xia XX, male, aged 54, from Wucun Town in Guangfeng County, a junior leader of the Old Local Church. In October 2000, Xia heard the testimony about God’s end-time work, and he accepted it then. But after he went back, he changed his mind. He even gave a false testimony before the people of his church and said that he had been fooled and deceived. He also blasphemed God’s end-time work, saying, “It is false and a cult.” In November 2000, Xia became sick suddenly. On January 27, 2001 (the fourth day of the Chinese New Year), he was diagnosed with cirrhotic ascites by the hospital. On April 16, 2001, he became mute, and on April 23, he gasped his last.

God’s words awakened my heart and made me understand that the pain of persecution I was suffering now for my belief in God was of the utmost value and of the utmost significance. I understood that God was using this environment of suffering to show me clearly Satan’s essence that is in enmity to God, so that I would be able to forsake it utterly and thereby turn my heart back to God and achieve a true love for God.

20. Living Through Cruel Persecution Has Strengthened My Faith in God

In that most painful and difficult experience of my life, although I had pain and weakness and sometimes fell, God’s love had been accompanying me. When I was weak, God’s word inspired me and gave me faith and strength, making me break through the restraint of darkness and death. When satan carried out its schemes, it was God’s timely reminding and guidance that caused me to wake up from the dense fog, see through satan’s schemes and tricks, and stand testimony for God.
